Sintesis O-[N,N-BIS(2-Hidroksietil)Asetamido] Selulosa Melalui Reaksi Selulosa Membentuk CMC Dilanjutkan dengan Amidasi Menggunakan Dietanolamina

Cellulose from paper pulp was alkalizated with NaOH 30% then carboxymethylated with monochloroacetic acid gave carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC). CMC resins then alkalizated again with NaOH 30% gave sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (Na-CMC) before amidation reaction with diethanolamine. Amidation reaction with diethanolamine was carried out in two step: in the first step, Na-CMC was reacted with ethanol, and in the second step, ethyl ester carboxymethyl cellulose reacted with diethanolamine gave O-[N,N-bis(2-hydroxyethyl)acetamido]cellulose. FT-IR spectroscopy analysis indicated C-N amide vibration in the region 1436 cm-1 and in the 1562 cm-1 region attributed to vibration of C=O group. Morphological analysis using SEM showed homogeneous and porous at their structure.
