Kecukupan dan Status Gizi Siswa SMU Dharma Pancasila Medan Serta Kaitannya dengan Indeks Prestasi

The objective of the study was to analyze the association of nutritional status and academic performance (academic record) among Senior High School students of Dharma Pancasila Medan. A sample−38 students− was taken purposively from the certain class. Data collected were body weight, body height, academic record, and food consumption of students. Above of 50% of students (22 persons) were in normal nutritional status. Fourteen of students (36,84%) were lean. Meanwhile, two of them were obese. The level of energy and protein intake was very low. The number of students who had balance food consumption were 10 (26,32%) and 17 persons (44,74%), for carbohydrate and fat contribution, respectively. In average, students were able to satisfy the requirement of vitamin A, but vitamin C and iron. It could be concluded that there was no significant relationship between nutritional status and academic record among senior high schools.
