Good performance in project delivery process is one determinant of a successful project outcome. As a professional in the construction industry, an architect has a very important role in ensuring that the process is conducted in the best possible way by providing appropriate design solutions and high-quality product. Thus, identifying an architect's most critical performance indicators is important in the project delivery process. This study aims to analyze and rank the relative importance of architect performance indicators in project delivery process among registered architects in North Sumatera, Indonesia. A total of 37 items that measure architect performance are identified and classified into five main indicators, and 110 completed and usable questionnaires are received and used for data analysis. A relative importance index is adopted in ranking the relative importance of architect performance indicators. Results indicate that architects regard focus on clients as the most important indicator of their performance in project delivery process. This study fills a knowledge gap on the importance of assessing and identifying the most important performance indicator from the architects' own perspectives which previous studies have overlooked, and demonstrates project communication as one of the extremely important indicators perceived by registered architects for measuring performance among architects to achieve a more thorough performance assessment.
