    Abstract
    In its operation, a PV system does not always operate at the design point; for example operation at night or cloudy days. At part load conditions, the performance of a PV system will be different from that at the design condition. Designer of a PV system should anticipate and be aware of this, Characteristics of a PV system at “off-design” conditions and their effect on the overall performance of the system must be known to get the optimal system. For the purpose described above, mathematical modelling of a house-hold PV system and its simulation program have been developed in this research. Mathematical modelling pf the components of a PV system which consist of: solar cell/module, a power tracker, a batteray, an inverter and an ac load. Development og the simulation program of the PV system based on the models developed. Simulation program was written Microsft Visual Basic fo Windows. Using the program, simulation has been carried out to study the effect of change of a parameter on the others.
     
    Dalam pemakaiannya, sistem pembangkit listrik tenaga surya (PLTS) tidak selalu beroperasi pada titik disain misalnya pada malam hari dan cuaca mendung. Di luar kondisi disain, kinerja dari sistem PLTS akan berbeda dengan pada kondisi disain. Hal ini harus diantisipasi oleh perancang suatu sistem PLTS. Untuk mendisain sistem yang optimal, perlu diketahui karakteristik dari sistem PLTS pada kondisi “off-design” dan efeknya terhadap kinerja sistem secara keseluruhan. Dengan tujuan yang diuraikan di atas, dalam penelitian ini telah dikembangkan model matematik komponen-komponen suatu sistem PLTS skala rumah tangga dan program simulasinya. Permodelan matematik komponen-komponen sistem PLTS terdiri dari : sel/moul surya, penjejak daya, baterai, inverter dan beban. Pengembangan program simulasi sistem PLTS berdasarkan model matematik dari masing-masing komponen sistem PLTS. Program simulasi ditulis dalam bahasa pemrograman Microsoft Visual Basic for Windows. Dengan menggunakan program simulasi, studi parametrik telah dilakukan untuk mengetahui perubahan suatu paramater terhadap parameter yang lain.
