    Abstract
    Background : Pulmonary tuberculoses is a chronic inefectious disease cased by mycobacterium tuberculoses. Etambutol hidroclorida is one of antituberculosis drugs in which toxicity that affected the eye Purpose :To evaluate the difference Retinal Nerve Fiber Layer thickness before and after taking etambutol at Adam Malik hospital Methode : The design was quasi experimental .The comparison group pre-test /post test design in Tuberculosa patient of 23 subject (46 eyes). All patient underwent an examination including visual acquity, color vision and RNFL thickness. Stratus OCT was performed on both eyes of each patient using the Retinal Nerve Fibre Layer analysis protocol. Result :In this study found decrease visual aquity was 8 eyes (5/6;5/8;5/10) and the difference color vision finding was 3 eyes (tritanomali). The RNFL thickness before/after taking etambutol was superior quadrant 129.26±19.719/125.43±17.032, inferior quadrant 131,13±28.946/125.52±25.968, temporal quadrant 76.09±24.070/77. 78±25.232, nasal qudrant 97.9637±37.085/ 90.26±37.456 and average 108.43±12.940/104.70±12.629 Conclusion : A decrease in RNFL thickness is observed in superior ,inferior and nasal quadrant and slight increase in the temporal quadrant. Althought not statistically significant in temporal quadrant.
     
    Latar Belakang :Tuberkulosis paru adalah penyakit menular kronis yang disebabkan oleh kuman mycobacterium tuberculosis. Etambutol hidroklorida merupakan salah satu obat anti tuberkulosis dimana organ yang dapat terkena toksisitas adalah mata . Tujuan : Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbedaan Retinal Nerve Fiber Layer sebelum dan sesudah pemakaian etambutol di RSUP. H. Adam Malik Medan Metode : Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimental dengan rancangan perlakuan tungal one group pre and post test design. Kuasi experimental di maksudkan adalah terhadap subjek yang di teliti tidak dilakukan random tetapi berdasarkan kriteria klinis. Hasil Penelitian : Dari penelitian ini di dapatkan penurunan penglihatan pada 8 mata(5/6;5/8;5/10) dan perubahan penglihatan warna dijumpai 3 mata(tritanomali). ketebalan RNFL kuadran superior sebelum terapi 129.26±19.719 dan setelah terapi 125.43±17.032. Kuadran inferior sebelum terapi 131.13±28.946 dan setelah terapi 125.52±25.968. Kuadran temporal sebelum terapi 76.09±24.070 dan sesudah terapi 77.78±25.232 dan rata-rata sebelum terapi 108.43±12.940 dan sesudah terapi 104.70±12.629 Kesimpulan : Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya penurunan retinal nerve fiber layer pada kuadran superior ,inferior dan nasal dan sedikit peningkatan pada kuadran temporal walaupun secara statistik tidak signifikan
