dc.description.abstractTelah dilakukan transesterifikasi minyak kelapa dalam media metanol dengan katalis NaOH pada temperatur reaksi dan konsentrasi katalis yang berbeda-beda. Variasi temperatur reaksi (T1: 30 0C, T : 50 0C, dan T3 : 70 0C) dan variasi konsentrasi katalis (K1 : 0,375 b/b, K2 : 0,500 b/b, K3 : 0,625 b/b) pada proses transesterifikasi akan menghasilkan karakteristik fisika Biodiesel minyak kelapa yang berbeda-beda untuk setiap variasi suhu dan konsentrasi katalis (T1K1, T1K2, T1K3, T2K1, T2K2, T2K3, T3K1, T3K2, T3K3). Karakteristik yang diuji meliputi viskositas, densitas, flash point, dan kadar air. Metil ester yang diperoleh untuk setiap perlakuan dipisahkan, dicuci, disaring, dan dimurnikan melalui proses distilasi pada suhu 110oC lalu dikarakterisasi. Biodiesel yang diuji mempunyai hubungan yang linier dengan perubahan temperatur reaksi dan konsentrasi katalis kecuali flash point tidak dipengaruhi perubahan temperatur reaksi dan konsentrasi katalis. Viskositas mempunyai nilai minimum 2,4080 cSt pada temperatur 30oC dan konsentrasi katalis 0,375% b/b dan nilai maksimum 2,4855 cSt pada temperatur 70oC dengan konsentrasi katalis 0,625% b/b. Densitas mempunyai nilai maksimum 0,8750 gr/cm3 pada suhu 70oC dan minimum 0,86 gr/cm3 pada suhu 30oC untuk setiap konsentrasi katalis. Flash point tidak dipengaruhi oleh temperatur reaksi maupun konsentrasi katalis yang digunakan. Kadar air mempunyai nilai yang minimum 0,0386% pada suhu 70oC dengan konsentrasi katalis 0,625% b/b dan nilai maksimum 0,0486% diperoleh pada temperatur reaksi 30oC untuk konsentrasi katalis 0,375% b/b.en_US
dc.description.abstractTransesterification of coconut oil has been conducted in methanol media by NaOH catalyst at reaction temperature and catalyst concentrations. The variation of various reaction temperature (T1 : 300C, T2 : 500C, T3 : 700C) and the variation of catalystic concenteration (K1= 0,375% w/w, K2 = 0,500% w/w, K3 = 0,625% w/w) in the tranesterification will result in characteristic Biodiesel physic of varians of coconut oil (T1K1, T1K2, T1K3, T2K1, T2K2, T2K3, T3K1, T3K2, T3K3). The characteristic that was tested includes the viscosity, density, flash point, and water content. Methyl ester which was obtaired in every treatment was separated, washed, filtered and purifred by distillation at the temperature of 1100C, which was then characterized. The tested Biodiesel in fact, has a linier corretation with the change of reaction temperature as well as the catalystic concentration except for the flash point The viscosity has a minimum rate of 2.4080 cSt on a temperature 30 0C and its catalyst concentration of 0.375% w/w and its maximum 2.4855 cSt on temperature 70 0C still on the catalyst concentration 0.6255% w/w. The density has an maximum rate of 0.8750 gr/cm3 on temperature 70 0 C and minimum rate of 0.86 gr/cm3 on each catalyst concentration. Noted that flash point is not impacted on the reacting temperature or catalyst concenteration as used. The water content has an minimum rate of 0.0386% on temperature 70 0C with a catalyst concentration 0.625% w/w and maximum rate of 0.0486% obtained on the reacting temperature 30 0C on the catalyst concentration of 0.375% w/w.en_US
