Expressions of The River Flows

Abstract

The river is an important part in the life of modern society, especially for urban communities. For the further reviewed, the river has the potential to become a recreational vehicle. Designing the river is a source of inspiration and ideas for designers, which also has a designed area of the case project about urban lifestyle. Combination of this two elements, the designer harmonising these elements into the designer’s individual theme. The theme is called "expression of the river flows" where the designer presents the case of the urban lifestyle such as shopping and nightlife inhabit a recreation area with river flow reflect to the building. Expression of the river aimed to illustrating the harmony between the building and the river where his depiction of the river flow past the rocks where the ripples, rocks and streams of water are shown in the design. The design activity are generally a revision activity, where there will be reviewing and correcting deficiencies in the design process so that it is a problem-solving. The activity of designing generally consist of the survey, data collection and site analysis (physics or non-physics), concept application, schematic design, and design development. This activity was moving straight to achieve a solution which is able to provide a solution in the case of the project. If the terms of the movement patterns of this activity, the patterns that are formed following the pattern of "overcasting stitch pattern" whereby the pattern that is formed in the repeated shape but moving straight like the pattern of design activity. End of the design activity obtained a solution that is able to answer the challenge of a given case of recreational hotel and mall project both in terms of design, structure, and functionality. In terms of design, we obtained the solutions of harmony between the concept of a stone element as a basic building material with a water element that is as soft as the depiction of the building skin. In terms of structure, the solutions obtained in the form of rigid frame structure system of merger and shell structural system, as well as the recognition of the skin with the fastener steel buildings. In terms of functionality, based on the layout, sanitation concept, electrical concept, air system concept, fire prevention concept, and the concept of sustainability aspects

Sungai merupakan bagian penting dalam kehidupan masyarakat masa kini, terutama bagi masyarakat perkotaan. Jika ditinjau lebih lanjut sungai memiliki potensi yang menjadi suatu wahana rekreasi. Dalam kegiatan merancang sungai merupakan sumber inspirasi maupun ide bagi perancang, dimana area yang dirancang juga memiliki kasus proyek mengenai urban lifestyle. Dari perpaduan 2 unsur tersebut, perancang mengharmonikan unsur tersebut melalui tema individu perancang yaitu tema “expression of the river flows” dimana perancang menyajikan kasus urban lifestyle berupa kehidupan berbelanja dan menghuni suatu area rekreasi dengan merefleksikan aliran sungai pada bangunan. Ekspresi dari sungai tersebut bertujuan menggambarkan harmoni antara bangunan dengan sungai dimana penggambarannya berupa aliran sungai yang melewati bebatuan dimana riak, batu dan aliran dari air itu ditunjukan dalam desain. Kegiatan merancang umumnya kegiatan bersifat revisi, dimana akan terjadi kegiatan mengulas dan memperbaiki kekurangan dalam proses desain sehingga dicapai suatu pemecahan masalah. Umumnya kegiatan dalam merancang terdiri atas kegiatan survey, pengumpulan data dan fakta, analisis tapak secara fisik maupun non fisik, penerapan konsep, perancangan skematik, pengembangan rancangan. Kegiatan ini bergerak lurus hingga dicapai solusi yang mampu memberikan pemecahan masalah dalam kasus proyek. Jika ditinjau dari pola pergerakan kegiatan ini, pola yang terbentuk mengikuti pola “overcasting stitch pattern” dimana pola yang terbentuk berbentuk mengulang tetapi bergerak lurus seperti pola kegiatan dalam merancang. Diakhir kegiatan merancang didapat suatu solusi yang dapat menjawab tantangan yang diberikan kasus proyek berupa hotel rekreasi dan mall baik dari segi desain, struktur, maupun fungsionalitas. Pada segi desain, solusi yang didapat yaitu harmoni antara konsep elemen batu yang bersifat sebagai bentukan dasar bangunan dengan elemen air yang bersifat lembut sebagai penggambaran skin bangunan. Pada segi struktur, solusi yang didapat berupa penggabungan sistem struktur rigid frame dan sistem struktur cangkang, serta pengakuan baja pengikat skin dengan bangunan. Dari segi fungsionalitas yaitu ditinjau dari segi layout, konsep sanitasi, konsep elektrikal, konsep tata udara, konsep penanggulangan kebakaran, konsep aspek keberlanjutan
