Title: 1,2-dimetil-1,1,2,2-tetrafenildisilana Sulfonat Sebagai Katalis Reaksi Transesterifikasi CPO ( Crude Palm Oil ) Berkadar Asam Lemak Bebas Tinggi Untuk Menghasilkan Biodiesel

Abstract: Transesterification of crude palm oil ( CPO ) with 7,82 % free fatty acids has been done by using 1,2-dimethyl-1,1,2,2-tetraphenyl-disilane sulfonated as a catalyst with different temperature and reusability of the catalyst. 1,2-dimethyl-1,1,2,2-tetrapheyl-disilane sulfonated was prepare by sulfonation of 1,2-dimethyl-1,1,2,2-tetraphenyl-disilane with acetil sulphate as a sulfonating agent. General reaction materials involve crude palm oil ( CPO ), dry methanol, and 1,2-dimethyl-1,1,2,2-tetraphenyl-disilane sulfonated were mixture in the stainless steel reactor by heating and stirring. The best product 95,91 % methyl ester was analyze by GC-Shimadzu taken with temperature 160 0C. After three times transesterification the catalyst showed good stabilization.
Abstract (other language): Telah dilakukan sintesa 1,2-dimetil-1,1,2,2-tetrafenildisilana sulfonat sebagai katalis reaksi transesterifikasi crude palm oil ( CPO ) dengan kandungan asam lemak bebas 7,82 % dengan variasi suhu reaksi dan pengujian terhadap kestabilan katalis 1,2-dimetil-1,1,2,2-tetrafenildisilana sulfonat. Sintesa 1,2-dimetil-1,1,2,2-tetrafenildisilana sulfonat dilakukan dengan mensulfonasi 1,2-dimetil-1,1,2,2-tetrafenildisilana dengan asetil sulfat sebagai agen pensulfonasi ( sulfonating agent ). Proses reaksi transesterifikasi dilakukan dengan mencampurkan crude palm oil, metanol kering dan katalis disilana sulfonat kemudian dipanaskan sambil diaduk. Hasil reaksi maksimum diperoleh pada suhu reaksi 160 0C dengan kadar metil ester 95,91 % yang dianalisa dengan GC-Shimadzu. Setelah melakukan reaksi transesterifikasi berulang-ulang katalis menunjukkan kestabilan yang baik.
