dc.description.abstractStudies have been conducted to show the utilization of natural zeolite Sarulla to absorb sulfide from waste (feces) of pigs in Simalingkar B Medan. The example of natural zeolite was taken randomly from Simangumban, Sarulla, North Tapanuli. This type of natural zeolite Sarulla was checked / tested in laboratory TekMIRA PPTM Bandung. The example of natural zeolite is crushed and sifted with a 100 mesh sieve. Obtained powder was activated at 175 0C. The example of pigs waste (feces) was taken randomly from the fresh feces of pigs in cages in Simalingkar B Medan , then it was added by 3 N NaOH solution, it was stirred and was allowed to stand for 24 hours. The mixture was filtered, and the filtrate was used to determine sulfide before and after the addition of zeolite. The addition of zeolite to 100 mL sulfide solution was varied as 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 and 90 grams. Sulfide content before and after the addition of active zeolite, was determined spectrophotometryly with methylene blue reagent at λmax = 600 nm. The results showed that the natural zeolite Sarulla, which is type of anortit- montmorillonite that was activated at 175 0C can absorb sulfide that was contained in the waste (faces) of pigs at a dose of 90 gram/50 gram sample at a time when sulphide content is no longer detected. Therefore it can be concluded that the natural zeolite Sarulla which was activated at 175 0C can be used to absorb sulfide that was contained in the waste / feces of pigs.en_US
dc.description.abstractTelah dilakukan studi pemanfaatan zeolit alam Sarulla untuk menyerap sulfida dari limbah (kotoran) ternak babi di Simalingkar B Medan. Contoh zeolit alam diambil secara acak dari desa Simangumban, Sarulla Kabupaten Tapanuli Utara. Jenis zeolit alam Sarulla ini diperiksa/diuji di Laboratorium TekMIRA PPTM Bandung. Contoh zeolit alam ini dihaluskan dan di ayak dengan ayakan 100 mesh. Serbuk yang diperoleh diaktivasi pada suhu 1750C. Contoh limbah ternak babi diambil secara acak berupa kotoran segar dari kandang ternak babi di Simalingkar B Medan , kemudian ditambahkan larutan NaOH 3 N diaduk dan dibiarkan selama 24 jam campuran ini disaring, filtratnya digunakan untuk menentukan sulfida sebelum dan sesudah penambahan zeolit. Penambahan zeolit terhadap sebanyak 100 mL larutan sulfida divariasi sebagai 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 dan 90 gram. Kandungan sulfida sebelum dan sesudah penambahan zeolit aktif, ditentukan secara spektrofotometri dengan pereaksi metilen biru pada λmax = 600 nm. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa zeolit alam Sarulla jenis anortit-monmorilonit yang diaktifkan pada suhu 1750C dapat menyerap sulfida yang terdapat didalam limbah (faces) ternak babi dengan dosis 90 gram/50gram sampel pada saat dimana kandungan sulfida tidak lagi terdeteksi. Oleh karena itu dapat disimpulkan bahwa zeolit alam Sarulla yang diaktifkan pada suhu 1750C dapat dimanfaatkan untuk menyerap sulfida yang terdapat dalam limbah/faces ternak babi.en_US
