Gambaran Perilaku Motivator dalam Mendukung Pasien Pasca Stroke Menjalani Fisioterapi di RSUD Kota Langsa Tahun 2011

Abstract

The number of stroke patients was the highest in General Hospital ff Langsa compared to other hospitals available in Langsa City. Based on medical record in 2010, the patients of stroke were for 371 persons, in which 44,5% (165 persons) came from Langsa City. Generally, the patients with stroke were suggested to have physiotherapy. However, based on the obtained data from the visit into the medical rehabilitation room, it was found that there were only few following the physiotherapy (47,3%). Low visit of patients for physiotherapy was caused by low support of the families to follow physiotherapy after the stroke. The objective of this research was to know the description of behavior of motivator to support stroke patient following the physiotherapy in General Hospital of Langsa in 2011. The type of the research was descriptive with cross sectional approach. The population were all nearest families and with the most dominant influence to the patients and with residence in Langsa City for 165 persons and the sample was taken for 62 persons. The data was obtained through direct interview with the patients of post stroke in General Hospital of Langsa City by distributing the questionnaire. The collected data was analized descriptively and presented in table of frequency distribution. The results of research showed that majority of the knowledge of the patients were mostly categorized medium for 48.4%, whereas other motivator was categorized good (29.0%) and low (22.6%). Majority of the attitude of the patients were mostly categorized medium for 53.30%, whereas other motivator was categorized good (30.6%) and low (16.1%). Majority of the motivator action in supporting the patients of post stroke was categorized medium for 46.8%, whereas other motivator was categorized good (27.4%) and low (25.8%). It was suggested for General Hospital of Langsa City to provide adequate information regarding the treatment for post stroke patients such as information board or leaflet which can be taken home by the patients and the families, to give direct information for patients and families to follow physiotherapy since mostly the reasons given were related to less information from helath providers.
