Pengaruh Dukungan Sosial dari Keluarga terhadap Pencegahan Kekambuhan Penderita Gangguan Jiwa di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Susoh Kabupaten Aceh Barat Daya

Abstract

Health Profile of Nanggroe Aceh Darassalam Province (2008) showed the overall mental disorders in this province, there were 1.677 people (31.12%) with severe mental disorders, 1.591 people (29.52%) with neurotic disorders, 1.190 people (22.98%) with acute psychotic and 334 people (6.20%) with depression. In Southwest Aceh district in 2010, the number of people with mental disorders were high, reaching 406 people. This indicates that mental illness is still a health and social problems that need to be solved comprehensively. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of family support (informational support, asessment support, instrumental support, and emotional support) on the prevention of relapse in patients with psychiatric disorders in the working area of Susoh District Health Center. This type of research was survey explanatory. The population in this study were the whole family of people with mental disorders who lived one roof and caring for people with mental disorders, amounting to 59 people and the whole sampled. Data obtained by interview using a questionnaire, were analyzed by multiple logistic regression at α = 0.05. Results showed that statistically emotional support and assessments support variable had significant influence on the prevention of relapse in patients with psychiatric disorders in the working area of Susoh District Health Center. Variables provide emotional support was the most influence on the prevention of relapse in patients with mental disorders with a value of coefficient B (1.852). It is necessary the District Health Office of Southwest Aceh and Susoh Health Center to do extension to families about the importance of mental disorders family social support, especially emotional support and assessment support for the process of healing and prevention of mental patients relapse asgain. Family of mental disorders in order to give full attention to mental health, physical and social people with mental illness in order to quickly recover and relapse does not occur again.
