    Abstract
    Telah dilakukan penelitian mengenai pengaruh suhu air pendingin PLTU terhadap kandungan klorofil pada air sungai sicanang belawan. Penentuan kadar klorofil dilakukan dengan cara menyaring sampel air lalu membilasnya dengan aseton kemudian disentrifuge dan hasil sentrifuge diukur dengan spektrofotometer sinar tampak pada panjang gelombang 630nm, 645nm dan 665nm. Hasil pengukuran kadar klorofil pada titik kontrol 100 meter sebelum pembuangan air pendingin adalah 4,9075 mg/m3 dengan suhu air sungai 290C, pada titik kontrol pembuangan air pendingin kadar klorofil yang dihasilkan adalah 1,0613 mg/m3 dengan suhu air sungai 330C, pada titik kontrol 100 meter setelah pembuangan air pendingin kadar klorofil yang dihasilkan adalah 1,3085 mg/m3 dengan suhu air sungai 310C, dan pada titik control 200 meter setelah pembuangan air pendingin kadar klorofil yang dihasilkan adalah 2,9175 mg/m3 dengan suhu air sungai 310C. Dari hasil penelitian yang dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa suhu pada pembuangan air pendingin dari pembangkit listrik tenaga uap (PLTU) ke badan sungai sicanang sangat berpengaruh terhadap keberadaan klorofil dalam air sungai sicanang belawan.
     
    Has done research on the effects of power plant cooling water temperature on chlorophyll content in river water sicanang Belawan. Determination of chlorophyll content is done by filtering the sample water and then rinsing with acetone and then centrifuged disentrifuge and results are measured with visible light spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 630nm, 645nm and 665nm. The results of measurements of chlorophyll levels at the control point 100 meters before the disposal of cooling water is 4.9075 mg/m3 with river water temperature of 290C, at the control points of cooling water discharge levels of chlorophyll produced is 1.0613 mg/m3 with river water temperature of 330C, the control point 100 meters after the cooling water discharge levels of chlorophyll produced is 1.3085 mg/m3 with river water temperature 310C, and at the control point 200 meters after the cooling water discharge levels of chlorophyll produced is 2.9175 mg/m3 with river water temperature 310C. From the results of research conducted can be concluded that the temperature of the cooling water discharge from the steam power plant (power plant) into the body of the river sicanang very influential on the presence of chlorophyll in the river water sicanang Belawan.
