Analisis Kesalahan Bahasa Dalam Penerjemahan Teks Berbahasa Indonesia ke dalam Teks Berbahasa Jerman

Abstract

The title of this research is Analysis of Error in Translation from Indonesian text to German. This research aims to describe the lexical errors, grammatical errors, and to describe the translation techniques performed by students in the translation of Indonesian text into German The data were taken from the work in translation two kinds of text, namely (1) cultural text and (2) technological text made by 16 students in the fourth semester, taking German Language Education, Foreign Language Department, Faculty of Language and Art, State University of Medan. A qualitative descriptive method is applied in This research. Based on the analysis, it is revealed that the errors made by students in terms of lexical include (a) miscellaneous errors of meaning and (b) differentiation / nondifferentiation errors. The errors in grammatical systems include (a) singular and plural, (b) aspect and (c) genus. The translation techniques used by students are (1) The literal translation, (2) Additions, (3) omissions, (4) replacements, (5) Compression, (6) substitution and (7) Free translation. The results showed that in the miscellaneous errors of meaning made by 16 students is 100% in the first and the second text. The grammatical system error in the singular and plural forms, the aspects and the genus errors made by 16 students is also 100% in the first and the second text. Translation techniques mostly used by the students are (1) The literal translation for 93,75% in the first text and 100% in the second text. (2) Omissions for 100% in the first and the second text. (3) Replacements for 100% in the first and the second text. (4) Additions for 75% in the first text, and 87.5% in the second text. (5) Substitution for 100% in the second text and 25% in the first text. (6) Compression for 50% in the first text and 6,25% in the second text. (7) Free translation for 6,25% in the first text and 12,5% in the second text.
