    Abstract
    Diameter of hole of fish pellet maker has not much been studied until now. Therefore, research was conducted to enhance the capacity of pellet produced. The research had been conducted at The Agriculture Engineering Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture USU in April - May2011 using non-factorial completely randomized design (hole diameters of 2, 3, and 4 millimeters). Parameters observed was the capacity, yield capacity, and the percentage of broken pellet. The results showed that the larger diameter gave a significant effect and different on the capacity, yield capacity, and the percentage of defects. The best result obtained in diameter of 4 millimeters.
     
    Uji Diameter lubang pada alat pembuat pakan ikan bentuk pelet belum banyak diteliti hingga saat ini. Oleh karena itu, penelitian dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas pelet yang dihasilkan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium keteknikan Pertanian Fakultas Pertanian USU pada April - Mei 2011 menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap non faktorial yaitu (Diameter lubang (2, 3 dan 4 mm). Parameter yang diamati adalah kapasitas olah, kapasitas hasil, dan persentase kerusakan hasil. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa besar diameter memberikan pengaruh dan perbedaan yang sangat nyata terhadap kapasitas olah, kapasitas hasil, dan persentase kerusakan hasil. Hasil terbaik diperoleh pada Diameter 4 mm.
