Title: Uji Ketahanan Bibit Sukun (Artocarpus communis Forst) Pada Beberapa Interval Penyiraman

Abstract: The plan growth is a result complex interaction between internal factor (intra cell factor and inter cell factor) and eksternal factor (such as water). Plan needs water in constans to growth. Deficiency of water will cause the growth of plan stopped because physiology activity or morfology activity disturbted. The purpose of this research was to detected influence some watering of interval to growth of breadfruit (Artocarpus communis Forst). This research was conducted from March until May 2011 in the Green House of Agriculture Faculty, University of North Sumatera that using the complete randomized non factorial design with 12 treatments and five replications. The analyzed parameters were plant height, diameter, number of leafs, leaf area and percentage growth of seedling. The results of research showed that some interval of watering give real influence to all parameters. Average of highest breadfruit seedling at treatment of A1 as 8,52 cm. Average increase of the biggest breadfruit seeds diameter at treatment of A3 as 0,34 cm. Average increase of number of highest breadfruit seeds leaves at treatment of A1 as 9 sheets. Average breadfruit seedling leaf area wide at treatment of A3 as 456,4641 cm2. Average percentage growth of breadfruit seeds at treatment of A0, A1, A3, A5 and A7 equal to 100%. The best type treatment is A0, A1, A3, A5 and A7.
Abstract (other language): Pertumbuhan tanaman merupakan hasil interaksi yang kompleks antara faktor internal (faktor intra sel dan inter sel) dan faktor eksternal (salah satunya adalah air). Tumbuhan memerlukan sumber air yang tetap untuk tumbuh dan berkembang. Kekurangan air akan mengakibatkan terhentinya pertumbuhan karena terganggunya aktivitas fisiologis maupun morfologis tanaman. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeteksi pengaruh interval penyiraman terhadap pertumbuhan bibit sukun (Artocarpus communis Forst). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret sampai dengan Mei 2011 di rumah kaca Fakultas Pertanian USU yang menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap non faktorial dengan 12 perlakuan dan lima ulangan. Parameter yang dianalisis adalah tinggi, diameter, jumlah daun, luas daun dan persen hidup bibit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa interval penyiraman memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap semua parameter. Pertambahan tinggi bibit sukun rata-rata tertinggi pada perlakuan A1, yaitu 8,52 cm. Pertambahan diameter bibit sukun rata-rata terbesar pada perlakuan A3 sebesar 0,34 cm. Pertambahan jumlah daun bibit sukun rata-rata tertinggi pada perlakuan A1 sebanyak 9 helai. Luas daun bibit sukun rata-rata terluas pada perlakuan A3 sebesar 456,4641 cm2. Persen tumbuh bibit sukun rata-rata tertinggi pada perlakuan A0, A1, A3, A5 dan A7 sebesar 100%. Jenis penyiraman yang paling baik adalah perlakuan A0, A1, A3, A5 dan A7.
