Abstract

Human faces a variety of decision making problems. Decision making that involves a few criterias is called Multiple Criteria Decision Making. One of the methods that can be used to solve this problem is TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution). Selection of acceptance Departemen of Religion at boarding school scholarship Darularafah Raya thats is determined by few criterias, there are, value of raport, drugs test, time of study, attitude at school , attitude at dormitory is a multicriteria problem. In the objective of this study, a decision supporting system has been built to help determining the audiences that will follow scholarship examination by using TOPSIS method. The steps of TOPSIS are: construct a decision matrix, construct the normalized decision matrix, construct the weighted normalized decion matrix, determine ideal and negative-ideal solutions, calculate the separation measure, calculate the relative closeness to ideal solution, rank the preference order. The output of the process is data ranked of the audiences of scholarship examination that is used as a helping tool in decision making.
