This study aims to identify the sleep quality and image sleep disturbances factors of patients with Diabetes Mellitus at The Work Area of Medan Johor Comunity Health Center by using a descriptive design. The samples studied are as many as 36 people with Diabetes Mellitus in the Work Area Puskesmas Medan Johor. Using purposive sampling technique sampling according to the study criteria. The data was collected in January to February 2011 using a questionnaire consisting of three parts, the first Demographic Data Questionnaire, the second part Sleep Quality Questionnaire, and the third is a Factors Sleep Disorders Questionnaire. From the data analysis known that 72.2% of respondents reported not sleeping well. Length of time required to initiate sleep at night is more than 60 minutes (30.6%), they awakened during the night as much as 3-4 times (27.8%) and long it takes to sleep at night is less than 5 hours (16.7%). Factors Diabetes Mellitus sleep disturbances are generally derived from the physical factors with the level of severe sleep disturbances is nocturia or frequent urination at night (22.2%), frequent thirst ( 33.3%), often feel tingling and cramps in the legs (16.7%), frequent pain (22.2%), and the factor of physical discomfort (16.7%). While the environmental factors that noises in the house (36.1%), the lights are too bright / dark (58.7%) and room temperature is too cold / hot (69.4%).
