Pemantauan Penggunaan Infus Metronidazol 0,5% Sebagai Kompres Untuk Menangani Gejala Malodor Dan Eksudat Pada Pasien Luka Kanker Di RSUP H. Adam Malik Medan

Abstract

Topical metronidazole has been used extensively to overcome the symptoms of cancer of malodor and wound exudate. The use of metronidazole infusion of 0.5% as a compress to treat symptoms of malodor and exudate in patients with cancer is a drug related problems on ineffective drug category, but the use of these preparations gave positive results on quality of life of cancer wound patients with wounds. In this research, has been done the monitoring of the use of metronidazole infusion 0,5% as a compress on the cancer wound patients in Room Inpatient Oncology RSUP H. Adam Malik Medan period from January to March 2011. The number of samples being monitored as many as 16 patients. Monitoring included the effectiveness of metronidazole infussion 0,5% as a compress in dealing with symptoms malodor and exudate in patients with cancer wound. Analyze data using descriptive method. Based on monitoring results, intravenous metronidazole 0.5% as a compress on the wound cancer patients gave positive results towards the improvement of cancer symptoms of cancer wound. This can be seen from the decrease in the amount of exudate and malodor of all patients were observed. It can be concluded that the use of intravenous metronidazole 0.5% effective as a compress to treat malodor and exudate in cancer wound patients on RSUP H. Adam Malik Medan.
