Abstract: PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesia, Tbk. Iskandar Muda Medan branch is one of the banks running in the sector of service. Realizinghow important the commitment of its employees is, this bank needs to make its work environment and the work motivation of its employees improved that a better work achievement can be performed by its employees. The purpose of this axplanatory descriptive survey study was to find out and analyze to what extent the work environment and work motivation had an influence on the commitment of the employees and to what extent the commitment of the employees had an enfluence on the job performance of PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesia, Tbk Iskandar Muda Medan branch. The data for this study were based on the primary data obtained through interviewing and distributing questionnaires to 43 respondents selected to be the samples for this study. The hypothesis was tested through multiple linear regression analysis, F test and t-test to find out the influence of independent variables on dependent variables at the level of confidence of 95% ( = 0.05). The result of this study with the tests simultaneously conducted showed that work environment and work motivation simultaneously had a highly significant influence on the work commitment of the employees of PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesia, Tbk. Iskandar Muda Medan branch. The most dominant variable was the work motivation. The conclusion drawn from this study is that work environment and work motivation simultaneously had a highly significant influence on the work commitment of the employees of PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesi, Tbk. Iskandar Muda Medan branch. Work motivation was the most dominant variable that had an influence on the commitment of the employees.
