| Abstract: | The research was conducted during August 2009 at the mangrove forest area in Secanggang Sub-District, Langkat District, North Sumatra Province. The purpose of this study was to examine the vegetation structure and diversity of mangrove plant species and to estimate the analisis vegetation of mangrove forests at the research site. The 12 sample plots of each size 30 x 30 m were established to indentify and measure the density of all vegetation. The allometric equation was used to estimate the analisis vegetation for all trees 5 cm at diameter at breast height (DBH) and above. The result, show that mangrove vegetations was found 14 mangrove spesies and dominated by Avicenia alba, Rhizophora apiculata and Xylocarpus granatum. The diversities mangroves at district Secanggang (Hs’) regency are still low is 1.86. |
| Abstract (other language): | Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei 2010 di Areal Model Arboretum Mangrove Desa Bagan Serdang Kecamatan Pantai Labu Kabupaten Deli Serdang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman jenis hutan mangrove. Sebagai bahan kajian penelitian adalah di areal model arboretum mangrove Desa Bagan Serdang Kecamatan Pantai Labu Kabupaten Deli Serdang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode transek yang diambil secara sistematis sebanyak 5 jalur 25 plot contoh yang masing-masing berukuran 10 x 100 m dengan ukuran plot 10 m x 10 m untuk diameter tegakan > 10 cm, 5 m x 5 m untuk diamter tegakan 5 – 10 cm dan 2 m x 2m untuk diameter < 5 cm, telah dibuat untuk mengidentifikasi dan mengukur kerapatan vegetasi. Paraeter yang dianalisis antara lain Indeks Nilai Penting dan keanekaragaman jenis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hutan mangrove di Areal Model Arboretum Mangrove Kecamatan Pantai Labu Kabupaten Deli Serdang 6 jenis vegetasi mangrove yang mendominasi adalah Rhizophora apiculata dengan INP (66,7 %)., Avicennia lanata dengan INP ( 64,6 %) and Sonneratia caseolaris dengan INP (65,6 %). Keanekargaman jenis mangrove yang terdapat di Areal Model Arboretum Mangrove Desa Bagan Serdang (Hs’) termasuk rendah yakni 1,50 pada tingkat pohon. |
