Pacar air flower plant (Impatiens balsamina Linn) areempiically used to treat various diseases one of which is arthritic and anti-inflamatory usually used in a long time. Based on, this study aims to determine the safety of such stocks by looking at the effect on liver damage picture of male guinea pig and a single dose for 14 days. A total of 25 heads of male guinea pig (300-400 g) were devided into 5 groups, each group of 5 animal. Group 1 as control, group 2, 3, 4 and 5 each were given the ethanol extract of pacar air flower plant dose 155 mg/kg BW, 310 mg/kg BW, 620 mg/kg BW, 1240 mg/kg BW. Ethanol extract of pacar air flower plant given a single on the first day of research and then for 14 days were observed state of guinea pig if there is death and then on day 15 guinea pig were killed for histological picture observed liver. Ethanol extract of pacar air plant do not cause significant differences between contol and treatment groups 2, 3, 4 againts guinea pig liver histological picture, but in the treatment of 5 doses 1240 mg/kg BW showed abnormalities in the guinea pig liver necrosis in which the nucleus of cells, sinusoids and central veins of guinea pig liver started to not seem abvious, so it can be concluded that administration of ethanol extract of pacar air flower plant at doses of 155 mg/kg BW to 620 mg/kg BW is safe to experimental animals and guinea pigs not safe for use on long-term treatment.
