Title: Solusi Vector Potensial Hertz Menggunakan Pendekatan Bayangan Komplek

Abstract: Sommerfeld Integral in Hertz vctor potensial was solved by using complex image approximation. Solutions are deriveded for x and z components of Hertz vector potensial generated by a dipole that is lied on the surface of a medium. The appropriateness of the solution is observed based on the requirements of the validity of the complex image approximation and also application of the solution in homogeneous halfspace medium dan multilayer medium. Results obtained from the solution are also compared with the results obtaied from the solution published previously (Wait, 1966). Results obtained show that Hertz vector potensial can be solved by complex image approximation. This is indikated by the appropriateness of the results obtained for variety of common parameters of the medium found in the field either for homogeneous halfspace medium or multilayer medium. Comparison of the results obtained with the results obtained by using solutions derived by Wait (1966) also support that using the complex image approximation in solving Hertz vector potensial is satisfactory.
