Pengaruh Persepsi Penghuni Terhadap Transformasi Bentuk Rumah Tipe 36 Di Perumnas Mandala

Abstract

Medan City as the third largest city in Indonesia can not be separated from issues of housing and settlement needs. Government through this Perumnas have attempted to meet these demands, but the number is still inadequate. In addition to the terms of the number, it turns out in terms of social and psychological, housing is also not achieving the desired objectives. Because human nature is basically the act, not the target of action, then people tend to create certain conditions to suit their desires and expectations. As a result of this action, in the end many of Perumnas homes that have experienced change (transformation), no exception to house residents from low-income community groups. Changes to this type of planning and usually with only modest funds and without control. Meanwhile, some other house, has been transformed into luxury homes that will mix with the houses that was developed with a very simple, which of course will give birth to chaos in the face of such Perumnas. This research was conducted to determine the types of change (transformation) that occur in the form of the house and its relationship with the Housing and socio-economic level of its occupant. The approach taken is the analysis of quantitative and qualitative explanatory descriptive method, namely the tendency to study the physical characteristics of space and social activities, economic and cultural. The sampling method with a purposive sampling technique, conducted through questionnaires and interviews direct to the landlord in Housing. The results of analysis conducted, in conjunction with the satisfaction of inhabiting or perceptions of occupancy, influenced by religious background, ethnicity and number of occupants. While the educational backgrounds and income levels are not too affect satisfaction or perceptions of inhabiting such occupancy. Of the various forms of transformation that has been done, almost the whole of the transformation has been influenced by ethnic background, religion, educational level and income level.
