Pengaruh Persepsi tentang Posyandu Usila terhadap Tingkat Pemanfaatan Posyandu Usila di Puskesmas Martoba Kota Pematangsiantar Tahun 2010

Abstract

Posyandu (integrated health service post) for the elderly is one of health serviceprogram in order to increase the quality of life for the elderly to be healthy, happy, useful and productive in their age. The utilization of posyandu for the elderly in the work area of Martoba Health Center, Pematangsiantar, was still low that indicated by the elderly who used posyandu for the elderly only 39 people (3,6%) out of 1055 the elderly. The type of research used explanatory approach that aimed to explain the influence of perception of the elderly about posyandu for the elderly (activities of posyandu, performance of cadre, posyandu facilities, location and support of the urban village head) on the utility level of posyandu for the elderly in the work area of Martoba Health Center, Pematangsiantar, in 2010. The population were all the elderly who used the posyandu for the elderly in Martoba Health Center, Pematangsiantar as 39 people and the sample was determined by total sampling. Data were collected by using questionnaire and were analyzed by using multiple linear regression. The results of research showed that variables which had significant influence on the utility level of posyandu for the elderly were perception of the elderly about posyandu activity (ρ = 0,002), perception of the elderly about performance of cadre (ρ = 0,024), perception of the elderly about posyandu facilities (ρ = 0,001) and perception of the elderly about location of posyandu (ρ = 0,000). The variable which had not relationship with the utility of posyandu for the elderly was the support of the urban village head (ρ = 0.385). It is expected to cadre of posyandu for the elderly to increase their perfomance and to cooperate with community in increasing variety of posyandu activity programthat can increase the quality of life for the elderly. Community is also expected to establish the new posyandu that is accessable for the elderly and to cooperate with Martoba Health Center, Pematangsiantar, to provide health facilities which is suitable with health need of the elderly.
