Faktor Sosio-Psikologi Masyarakat Yang Berhubungan Dengan Anemia Ibu Hamil Di Kota Tanjung Balai, Sumatera Utara

Anemia in pregnant women is a problem in Indonesia. Based on SKRT 1992, 60% of pregnancy women in Indonesia has anemia. In North Sumatra, prevalence of anemia among pregnancy women is 78, 65%. In 2003, in Tanjung Balai 40, 2% of pregnant women had anemia. Anemia in pregnancy women is influenced by many factors.One of the prominent factor is the socio-psychology factor. Therefore, the objective of this study is to explore the assotiation of socio-psychological factors with anemia in pregnant women. This study was located in Tanjung Balai City, where the prevalence of pregnant women is the fifth highest in Province of North Sumatra. This study design using qualitative approach with Focus Group Discussion (FGD) technique. The population of this study is all of informants who knows about socio-psychological factors among pregnant women. The sampel is using purposive method by choosen three health centers in Tanjung Balai City. From every health center was selected 10 informants who will interviewed by using guidance questionaire. The conclusions of this study are: most of the pregnant women in Tanjung Balai City have high risk associated with not enough food supplies, have restriction in norms, value of culturs more important than health care of pregnant women, and women are subordinated by husbands. This study was recommended an integrative approach by changing the socio- psycological factors to decrease the prevalence of anemia among the pregnant woman, not only distributed the iron tablets iron with health education.
