Pola Makan dan Keragaman Menu Anak Balita Pada Keluarga Miskin di Kecamatan Medan Tuntungan Tahun 2005

The objective of this study was to know the food consumption pattern and variation of menu of under five children of poor families at Medan Tuntungan, 2005. The research was conducted at Kelurahan Baru Ladang Bambu and Kelurahan Tanjung Selamat. The population of the research were poor families having under five children. The number of total sampling were 102 families. Data were collected by using questionnaire. The results showed that food consumption pattern of under five children were rice consumed daily; Also the consumed tempe, tahu, eggs, fish, and chicken by 1 to 3 times in a week; The vegetables were constituted by spinach, cassava leaf and combination of cabbage, carrot, and bean consumed 1 to 3 times in a week. They also consumed ‘krupuk’ and ‘chiki’ daily. Only a small part of them consumed dietary consisted of ≤ 2 types of foods, 32,35% of them consumed dietary consisted of ≥ 4 types of foods, and the rest (29,4%) consumed dietary consisted of 3 to 4 types of foods daily.
