Hubungan Karakteristik Pekerja Dengan Faal Paru Di Kilang Padi Kecamatan Porsea Tahun 2010

Abstract

Paddy factory is one of the informal sector which produces rice grain from plant resources which then will be marketed to the consumer. Pulmonary physiology is when the lung function are seen as normal or disturbed. Lung function is to be normal when the spirometry shows FVC > 80% and FEV1 > 70%. When there is disturbance in the lung function it will be either the lung ventilation function which can be seen in FVC value or the FEV1 value which will determine wheter it’s a restrictive, obstructive or both. This research is done in the paddy factory at Porsea district and the purpose of this research is to know the relationship of the characteristic of the worker which will be based on their age, duration of time exposed, safety clothing and history of smoking with the pulmonary physiology disorder in paddy factory in Porsean in the year of 2010. This research is done using cross sectional design with total sample of 35 individuals. Based on Chi Square test, result shows that the relationship was meaningful between the age of the workers and the plumonary physiology with p=0.022 and there is relationship between the duration of work or exposure to the pulmonary physiology with p=0.036, and there is relationship between the safety clothing to the pulmonary physiology with p=0.024, whilst there is no interaction exist with the history of smoking and the pulmonary physiology with p=0.890 and there is another interaction exist with the history of disease and pulmonary physiology by p=0.017. Based on the outcome, the individuals with decreased lung function are to be examined further by medical practioner.
