The sintesised result of 2-hydroxy-4-(beta-hydroxy ethoxy)-benzophenone (HHBP) was a yellowish needle crystal with melting point 90-91oC and the yield was 90%. Elemental analysis of HHBP was found the C content was 69.77% and the H content was 5.43%. The identification of structure HHBP was carried out by using spectrometer UV, FTIR, proton and carbon-13 NMR. The ? maximal of HHBP was 287 nm. Analysis FTIR spectrum showed the appearance new free hydroxyl absorption. Analysis proton NMR was showing the disappearance of proton hydroxyl which was dyrectly bound onto aromatic, in addition, was found 4 new protons of methylenic group which was influenced by oxygen. Analysis of carbon-13 NMR was found two new secondary carbons of methylenic group, influencing by oxygen. From the above analysis can be suggested that the changing structure of DHBP to be HHBP can be identified by an absence of proton hydroxyl aromatic of DHBP and replacing by hydroxy ethoxy group of HHBP.
