Kondisi Optimum Pemasakan Abaca (Musa Textilis Nee) Dengan Proses Sulfat

The aim of these research are to know the effect of cooking condition to yield, kappa number, physical and optic properties from sulphate process of abaca, also the optimum of cooking condition of abaca to produce the yield, kappa number, bleached pulp yield, physical and optic properties of sulphate pulp. The result of this reseach show that sulphate pulp of abaca producing above 50% yield. In the general, cooking temperature on 160oC produce screened pulp yield, bleached pulp yield, physical and optic properties which better than cooking temperature on 180oC. Increasing of active alkali which used in cooking will caused decreasing of screened pulp yield, kappa number, bleached pulp yield and tear index. However the tensile index, burst index, opacity and brightness were increase with increasing of active alkali. The optimum of cooking condition are when use temperature on 160oC with active alkali 18%.
