The research of living coral reef condition based on percent cover and their relations to water quality has been done in Karang Island North Sumatra. The result it was found 7 form of living coral, 4 from Acropora: Acropora branching, A. submassive, A. digitate, A. tabulate and 3 from Non-Acropora: Coral foliose, C. massive and C. .submassive. The persent cover of living coral reef coverage was good, i.e. 77.75%. The highest coverage was in station IV with 63.40 % Acropora; 81.73% Non-Acropora and the lowest was in station I with 53.46% Acropora; 71.63% Non-Acropora. Statistical analysis showed that temperature, depth, light penetration, light intensity, salinity, pH and dissolved oxygen have close relationship to the percent cover of living coral reef on Karang Island.
