Eight clusters of Licuala gracilis Bl. were investigated in Bogor Botanic Garden to determine the extent of differences between hermaphrodite and female plants in floral morphology, flowering period and pollinator. The female inflorescence has singular flower, the hermaphrodite arranged in group of two to four flowers, but they are indistinguishable superficially. A notable difference in flowering phenology was found between the two flowers; the flowering period of hermaphrodites is longer than female. The hermaphrodite flowers were protoginy. The apomixis phenomenon is assumed occurs in female plant. It was revealed from field observation that fruits were produced eventhough all of flowers were covered along the anthesis period. Ants (Dolichoderus thoracicus) and bees (Megachile sp.) were suspected to be the pollinators.
