Hubungan Tekanan Darah Dengan Kadar Timbal Pada Polisi Lalu Lintas Di Kota Medan Tahun 2004
One of the National Development Plan Program is to control environmental pollution, for example air pollution. Some of pollutants that relate to the air pollution are plumbum (Pb) that use as a mixed for gasoline. One of program is to eliminated Pb from gasoline, because its can be harm for community health. The objective of this study is to find the relationship between pressures of blood with Pb level in the blood of the highway police. The numbers of sample are 30 policemen. The result of research show that there were 26 respondent (87,7%) high level of Pb in the blood, meanwhile only 4 of them (13,3%) had a normal level of Pb in the blood. Six (20%)of the sample had normal pressure of blood, and 26 sample (80%) was high pressure of blood. Chi square test resulted that was relationship between pressure of blood and the level of Pb in the blood ( p=0,01). In order to prevent the policemen from air pollutants, especially Pb from gasoline, it is suggested that policemen always use masker when they work at highway, and the time they work need to be rotated to prevent the accumulate of Pb in the blood.
