Man around the world have a musical culture. Each musical culture has its own scale system. Some examples of scale system are as follows: tetratonic (four pitch scale), pentatonic (five pitch scale), hexatonic (six pitch scale), heptatonic (seven pitch scale), and diatonic (a scale using two types of interval: half and full steps). The pentatonic and diatonic are the most popular among the others. Composera and musicians usually practise the two famous scale systems. The pentatonic scale is mostly found in the musical culture of China, India, East Asia, West Asia (Middle East), Africa, and little part of East Europe. The diatonic scale is mostly practised in Western culture, i.e., people in Europe, United State as well as Latin America. But in the context of globalization both scale system always interrelation in concept and activity. Pentatonic scale cultural system adopted some elements of diatonic scale cultural system, and diatonic scale cultural system adopted some elements of pentatonic cultural system. The musical culture in Indonesia generally based on pentatonic cultural system. For example in Java, Bali, and Sunda there is two genre pentatonic scale which called slendro and pelog. In another part, have pentatonic scale system, for example in Sumatra, Borneo, and Celebes.
