Sertifikat Bank Indonesia is one of the open market operation instrument which is used by Indonesian Central Bank to control the inflation and the credit of the banks. When Indonesia get the monetary crisis Indonesian Central Bank succeded to use the instrument to control the inflation which is marked with the recovery or rupiah rate to US$, but this is also followed at the raise of deposit rate causing indisposed bank progressively because operating with negative spread and amount of channelled credit also decrease. But after the Indonesian economy progressively better it necessary to know if Sertifikat Bank Indonesia have a positive or negative influence to the inflation and credit of the banks in Indonesia. In order to solve the problem we use the simple regression to find the regression coefficient. The regression use the inflation and credit of the banks as the dependent variable and Sertifikat Bank Indonesia as independent variable. This research use the time series datas with four years since 2000 until 2003. Based on the research Sertifikat Bank Indonesia has a positive influence to the inflation but it has a negative influence to the credit of the banks.
