Analisis Faktor – Faktor yang Mempengaruhi Tingkat Inflasi di Sumatera Utara

The aim of this study is to identify the factors which are influenced the Inflation rate in Noth Sumatera. The data employed is secondary data with time series from 1986 until 2003. The variables employed in the study are Government expenditure, Foreign Direct Investment, Net Export, and Total Credit. The technical instrument is used in this study is multiple regression with Ordinary Least Square (OLS). The regression result shows that Government Expenditure and Foreign Direct Investment have negative influences to inflation rate, meanwhile Net Export and Total Credit have positive influences to inflation rate. Government Expenditure significantly has a negative influence to inflation rate 0,000129. It means that the increasing of Government Expenditure Rp 1000.000 caused the decreasing of Inflation rate Rp129. Foreign Direct Investment significantly has a negative influence to inflation rate - 1,99. It means that the increasing of Foreign Direct Investment Rp 1000.000 caused the decreasing of Inflation rate Rp 1.990.000. Net Export has a positive influence 9,30 but not Significant. It means that the increasing of Net Export Rp 1000.000. caused the increasing of Inflation rate Rp 9.300.000. Total Credit significantly has a positive influence to inflation rate 7.670.000!t means that the increasing of Total Credit Rp 1000.000 caused the increasing of Inflation rate Rp 7.670.000. Based on R2, the independent variables can explain inflation rate about 77,7 %. It means that 77,7 % Inflation rate can be explained by Government Expenditure, Foreign Direct Investment, Net Export, and Credit. Meanwhile another 22,3 % can be explained by another variables which is not included in this study.
